Subbing for Summer School

Current MMSD teachers, Substitute Teachers, SEA's Substitute SEA's may apply to sub for summer school via the following link:

  • Subs are called using this list for the summer and not using the AESOP substitute placement system.
  • Subs will be paid for student contact time per day, but not prep time.

General Information

Summer School is a six week session held Monday – Friday from June 18 – July 27. No class on July 4.
Daily contact time is from 7:45 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. (includes teaching and passing time).

K – 7 Class Structure

Each teacher will have three 80 minute sections. Content will be the same for all three sections, but grade level may change by section.


Section 1 – Literacy grade 2
Section 2 – Literacy grade 2
Section 3 – Literacy grade 3

4K Class Structure

Each 4K teacher will have one class for the entire morning and will teach content and enrichment in the same classroom.

High School Class Structure

Each teacher will have two sections. Content may change for the two sections.

Section 2 – Algebra 2

Enrichment Classes Include: Art Expressions, Movement Fun and Fitness, Taking Learning Outdoors, Technology and Robotics, Engineering through Legos and World Explorers.

High School Classes Include: English 1, English 2, English 3 / 4, Health Education, Physical Education, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, Geometry, Biology, General Chemistry, Integrated Science, General Physics, Modern US History, US History, Social Issues, Western Civilization, World History Overview, Spanish as a world language, ESL Literacy Skills, 2D/3D Design, Art Experience, ACT Prep, Read 441, Read 501R, Read 901R

$20/hour for external teachers
$25/hour for internal teachers and substitute teachers

Based on 6 hours per day (Instruction and planning time) for a total of 30 hours per week.

Training/Professional Development

All Staff are required to complete training and professional development. Professional development days will be Thursday, June 14 and Friday, June 15. Detail to come at a later date,
