If you are regular employee that works at least 19 hours per week or at least a 50 percent contract, you will be eligible for benefits. You can confirm your benefits eligibility on your offer letter or by contacting the Benefits Helpdesk (firstname.lastname@example.org or (608) 663-1692). If you are eligible for benefits, enrollment must be competed within 30 days of your effective date.
Benefits include health insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, voluntary life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance (for eligible employee types), and long-term care insurance. In addition to the insurance plans, MMSD offers retirement savings plans (WRS state pension and 403(b) plans), a comprehensive Employee Assistance Program and a wellness program.
Health, dental, vision, short and long-term disability insurance, and flexible spending account coverage is effective the first day of the month following your date of employment. For example, if your first day of work is August 24, your insurance is effective September 1.

Your User name is your employee "b" number without the b (7XXXXX); and your PIN is the last four digits of your social security number followed by the last two digits of your birth year (SSSSYY). If you do not enroll within the 30 day window, you will have waived your rights to enroll in coverage as a new hire. *You may enroll/change your health, dental, vision, short-term disability and flexible spending accounts annually during Open Enrollment (always October 15 to November 15), or if you experience a mid-year qualified life event.
