The Madison Metropolitan School District recognizes that its employees may from time to time face crises for which they require support and special resources. It is with this understanding that the MMSD Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has been developed to serve your needs as an employee. Assistance is available through a 24-hour help line administered by WorkHealthLife. EAP is a voluntary and confidential program designed to promote the well-being of employees and their family members regarding a broad range of concerns.
Who may use MMSD's EAP?
As an MMSD employee, you, or any member of your household may use the EAP for any personal, family or work concern.
Will my contact with the EAP be confidential?
Yes, MMSD's EAP protects the anonymity of each employee who makes contact with WorkHealthLife. Their staff is educated to understand that the employee’s right to absolute confidentiality is the most important aspect of the helping relationship.
What are some of the problems or concerns the EAP can help me with?
- Depression, grief, loss and emotional well-being
- Family, marital and other relationship issues
- Life improvement and goal setting
- Addictions such as alcohol and drug abuse
- Stress or anxiety with work or family
- Financial and legal concerns
- Identity theft and fraud resolution
- Online will preparation
How do I access the EAP?
If you feel you would like to use the MMSD EAP, you may contact WorkHealthLife. All of their staff have Masters Degrees and provide information, referral and support for any EAP concern.
Is there a cost for the program?
No. There is no cost to you or your family members. However, if after utilizing the 3-in-person visits requires additional services of an outside agency or health care provider, there may be a charge for such services. Many, if not all, of these costs may be covered by your health insurance plan.
When can I use the EAP?
You may access the EAP at any time. 24 hours/day. Remember, early identification of a problem can often prevent more serious problems later on.
